FÚTBOL DE PRIMERA TO BROADCAST ITS DAILY SHOW ON WMET 1160 AM IN WASHINGTON DC.
Fútbol de Primera and WMET 1160 AM announced today that WMET will be the affiliate station in Washington DC to broadcast the Fútbol de Primera Daily Show from Monday through Friday, 6:00pm to 7:00pm, starting on June 25. In addition, WMET may broadcast other future, coveted, soccer events including Mexican League matches and the 2010 FIFA World Cup Concacaf Qualifying Games.
In its 18 year history, Fútbol de Primera has become the leading Hispanic soccer company in the United States and is the premier provider of Spanish-language soccer programming. As such, it is the largest and the oldest sports network in the country.
Fútbol de Primera is the home of the most important exclusive soccer radio rights in the country, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the 2014 FIFA World Cup and all FIFA events such as the Confederations Cup, among others. Additionally, Futbol de Primera has the rights to the Mexican National Team games. Fútbol de Primera also carries the Mexican League game of the week, will broadcast the Interliga Tournament in 2008 and recently covered the Copa Libertadores and the Concacaf Gold Cup.
In 2006, a total of 90 affiliates aired minute to minute coverage of the FIFA World Cup as Fútbol de Primera broadcast live from Germany with a team of experts including Carlos Bilardo, Bora Milutinovic, Carlos Hermosillo, Luis R. Alves "Zague" and Benjamin Galindo, among others.
